Sunday Scripture: Deuteronomy 8:17-18

By June 6, 2010

Follow me on:

Deuteronomy 8:17-18 - "You may say to yourself, "My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me." But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your forefathers, as it is today." (NIV)

For as much as we sometimes put ourselves down and beat ourselves up when we make mistakes, we also can put too much emphasis on our own abilities when good things happen. Humility and giving glory to God for the good stuff is a part of our Christian walk. Sure we can be proud of ourselves. Even if you are humbled before God, we should still feel good when we do well. Yet, we cannot forget for a moment that it was God that gave us the abilities we have. He deserves our praise for giving us skills and the right circumstances for us to use to succeed.

If parents are looking for a Wilderness program that also has an accredited Jr. & Sr. High School, Shepherd’s Hill Farm Academy is an excellent Christian Boarding School that is also a Wilderness program. http://www.shepherdshillfarm.org

We would be glad to discuss our program and give a tour of Shepherd’s Hill Farm to anyone interested in learning more. Below is a testimony from a parent of a Shepherd’s Hill Farm student. God Bless!

Shepherd’s Hill Farm (SHF) is not just a program that takes care of and educates teens. Shepherd’s Hill Farm is a place where the gifted staff vulnerably builds trust and genuine relationships through modeling a loving Christ centered life. Both this method and the radical program features allow the students of Shepherd’s Hill Farm to turn away from the evil in the modern day culture that once had influence over them. Shepherd’s Hill Farm does not just serve families with teens in crises- at Shepherd’s Hill Farm they save lives, save souls, and save families.
Blessed beyond measure,
