Get to Know the Books of the Bible

Monday March 19, 2007

Many Christian teens read their Bible with little understanding of its organization. Most know that there is an Old Testament and New Testament, but fewer know that there are 39 books in the Old Testament and 27 in the New Testament. Also, some Christian teens have no idea that the books of the Old Testament are not actually placed in chronological order.

So, why is it important to know more bout the structure and organization of the Bible? Getting to know the purpose of each book and where certain events fall in a timeline make it easier to grasp what some of the authors were trying to say. Understanding the Bible's structure gives us insight into our own faith.
