Christian Teens' Memory Verse of the Week 51

By Kelli Mahoney, About.com

One great way for Christian teens to grow in their faith is to memorize and apply Bible verses to their lives. While Christians should be reading their Bibles every day, memorizing Bible verses is a great way to incorporate what you read into your daily life.

Memory Verse:

Proverbs 13:9 - "The life of the godly is full of light and joy, but the light of the wicked will be snuffed out." (NLT)

Application for Christian Teens:

Have you ever been around someone that truly serves God? There is always something about those people that seems, as the proverb says, "full of light and joy." There is a lightness about them, even when things aren't always perfect. On the other hand, sinners don't give off that same lightness. God has judgement for the wicked. There is a weight in sin that those living in it continue to carry with them. Pray this week about sin and how to avoid it. Ask God to give you the light of the righteous and the direction to avoid adding any undue weight to your life.
