Christian Teens' Memory Verse of the Week 43
Week 43

By , About.com Guide

One great way for Christian teens to grow in their faith is to memorize and apply Bible verses to their lives. While Christians should be reading their Bibles every day, memorizing Bible verses is a great way to incorporate what you read into your daily life.

Memory Verse:

Galatians 5:19 - "When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures"(NLT)

Application for Christian Teens:

Sinful nature v. Fruit of the Spirit. This quote out of Galatians goes on to list several more forms of sin like idolatry, sorcery, selfishness, etc. It is easy to let our desires drive us toward certain things. After all, we live in a desire-driven world. Does that mean that desires are bad? No. This chapter goes on to discuss how the Holy Spirit can provide us with fruits that will actually make us happier than giving into sinful desires. Desires that please God are good. Loving people. Happiness. Being truthful and patient. Those are good desires, and we need to strive toward those things. Pray this week that the Spirit fill your heart with God's desires rather than what the world around you is telling you to desire.
