Christian Teens' Memory Verse of the Week 40
Week 40

By Kelli Mahoney, About.com

One great way for Christian teens to grow in their faith is to memorize and apply Bible verses to their lives. While Christians should be reading their Bibles every day, memorizing Bible verses is a great way to incorporate what you read into your daily life.

Memory Verse:

1 Peter 5:6 - "Be humble in the presence of God's mighty power, and he will honor you when the time comes."(CEV)

Application for Christian Teens:

Humility is a hard concept for most of us today. Everything around us says we should be proud of what we do and promote our accomplishments. While it is important to take some pride in how we act, what we do, and try to be our best, it is not necessarily good in God's eyes to constantly remind people of how great we are. We need to remember that God puts a value on humility. We are to be examples to others, but should avoid wanting them to put us up on a pedestal.
