Sure, looking up bible verses for graduation isn't going to yield you direct results. There really isn't a whole book about pomp, circumstance, and which way to wear your tassel. Yet, that doesn't mean that the emotions of joy, fear, and excitement aren't real. It just means that when you look at scripture you can see a lot of great advice for the bright and open future in front of you.

Hope

Graduation is a time filled with hope for the future. You're about to embark on the next adventure in life. Yes, they say turning 18 means becoming an adult, but really, it starts the day you graduate from high school. Whether it's college on the horizon or a new job, the future is yours for the taking.

Joshua 1:9 - Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. (NIV)

Numbers 6:24-26 - The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace. (NIV)

Colossians 1:10 - And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God. (NIV)

Strength

While there may be hope for the future, graduation is also a scary time, because you're about to leave everything you knew behind. Even if your high school experience wasn't stellar, there is still a small part of you that might be a little afraid to let go. God can give you strength even in the uncertainty.

1 Timothy 4:12 - Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity. (NLT)

Proverbs 3:5-6 - Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. (NLT)

Deuteronomy 31:6 - So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord, your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you. (NLT)

Success

We all hope for success in our future, but we forget sometimes what a success graduation itself it. We need to live in that present and just enjoy what we've accomplished. You made it through high school. You made it past the pitfalls of adolescence. You made it through gym class, chemistry, lunch hours, detentions, prom...you made it through it all, and you succeeded.

Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (NIV)

Psalm 119:105 - Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. (NIV)

Proverbs 19:21 - Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails. (NIV)

2 Corinthians 9:8 - God can bless you with everything you need, and you will always have more than enough to do all kinds of good things for others. (CEV)
