Bible Verses on Beauty

When looking for Bible verses on beauty, you can find a couple different topics. There are those verses that praise beauty on a spiritual level, and other Scriptures that warn us against focusing too much on outer appearance. Here are some Bible verses on beauty:

Praising Beauty

Song of Songs 4:1
How beautiful you are, my darling! Oh, how beautiful! Your eyes behind your veil are doves. Your hair is like a flock of goats descending from the hills of Gilead. (NIV)

Ecclesiastes 3:11
He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. (NIV)

Psalm 45:11
For your royal husband delights in your beauty; honor him, for he is your lord. (NLT)

Psalm 50:2
From Mount Zion, the perfection of beauty, God shines in glorious radiance. (NLT)

Proverbs 2:21

Esther 2:7

1 Peter 3:3-6
Don’t depend on things like fancy hairdos or gold jewelry or expensive clothes to make you look beautiful.  Be beautiful in your heart by being gentle and quiet. This kind of beauty will last, and God considers it very special. Long ago those women who worshiped God and put their hope in him made themselves beautiful by putting their husbands first. For example, Sarah obeyed Abraham and called him her master. You are her true children, if you do right and don’t let anything frighten you. (CEV)
