Ephesians 4:6 - "But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God's grace that you have been saved!). For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus." (NLT)
God is merciful, and we shoudl be grateful for that. We are all sinners, and it would be easy for God to just write us off. However, think about your friends who have hurt you at times. Have you always just walked away? Is there sometimes forgiveness involved? Forgiveness and mercy are not always easy, but they are what God provides for us.
One of the reasons we turn to God and become Christians is that we desire His mercy. We desire to be saved and to spend eternity in Heaven with Him. We want the unconditional love He provides. It is our job to try and not hurt God. It shoudl be our mission to be more like Him and love one another. Will we be perfect? Probably not, but God sees our efforts. He knows our hearts.
