Psalm 37:8 - "Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret--it leads only to evil." (NIV)
Anger can be extremely destructive. We all get angry from time to time. Things happen in our lives that are frustrating. We see other people's success and wonder why we those types of things don't happen to us. We are the victim of harmful words, actions, or gossip. We see bad things happen to our friends. Anger is a natural emotion, but when we let it fester and grow we run into a dangerous territory.
Take a look at Cain. He became angry with God for favoring his brother. His anger festered, and he killed Abel in a field. His anger led to murder. Now, most of us aren't that extreme, but anger can lead us away from God. It can hurt our relationships. We need to find forgiveness and calm in our hearts. We need to look to God to accept his plans...even when we face hardship on our path.
