Well, it is now official. You can't go anywhere anymore without hearing something about the Twilight saga. Even the Vatican is getting into the action with Monsignor Franco Perazzolo, the Culture Council leader for the Vatican, issuing a review that charges the film with demonstrating a "mixture of excesses" aimed at young people and delivering a "deviant message" in a movie that is "nothing more than a moral vacuum."
I don't know if I would go that far in discussing the film, especially since I haven't seen it. Yet I wonder what you think? Is New Moon delivering a bad message to teens or is it just another fun romp in adolescent imaginings? Is it worth seeing, or do you think it should be avoided? Share your opinion in the poll below:

Personally, I think the controversy over New Moon is even sillier than the controversy over the Harry Potter series. While I wouldn’t call the Twilight series quality literature, or quality films, it isn’t a “moral vacuum.” Yes, the books seem to advocate that your significant other should be everything to you, above all else in your life, they have some good points. Carlisle, who is basically morally perfect, says outright that he believes God exists. Also, Edward and Bella face temptations for premarital sex, yet they overcome them. For secular stuff, I don’t think the Twilight series is bad.
After reading New Moon where the Volutari are first introduced I sensed the author may have alluded to the Vatican with the governing vampire headquarters in Italy and festival patrons walking around in red robes. Now it’s official.
The Twilight Saga New Moon Might Be About Vampires But It Dont Focus That Much On Vampires . It Really Focuses About The Love That Edward And Bella Share . Ive Seen The Movie And I Would Say That Its Not A Morral Vacuum . Because Carlisle Believes That God Does Exsist .
Just because someone believes in God doesn’t stop something from being a moral vacuum. God says that demons believe in Him and they most certainly don’t care about morals. I haven’t seen the movies, but from what I hear and read from reviews and reading the first book, I don’t think that anyone should be watching that stuff esp. Christians as it idolizes vampires and lauds obsessing over a significant other. God wants us to love our HUSBANDS/WIVES as ourselves, but even so we should love HIM above all others. I could say a whole lot more, but thats all from me for now. pluggedinonline.com is a good Christian entertainment review site if anyone who wants to learn more.
well all i have to say that just because he thinks that God exists doesn’t mean he believes or has faith in God. The Twilight series is just trying to make vampires and werewolfs look good. There are real vampires and werewolfs and they worship satan. No there not cold or al of that junk but they worship Satan. Plus the reall life werewolfs have demons manifested in them to make them look that way and they punish the Satanists that diobey Satan. I read all four books and its…ok. but its not something that you should be worshipping and dieing for.
Ditto. You ever read Rebecca Brown’s books?
