Luke 16:10 - "If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won't be honest with greater responsibilities." (NLT)
Sometimes Christians tend to talk about how important the "big topics" in our faith are, and we get so caught up in them that we forget that being faithful in a big way starts with the little things. Every day each of us are faced with small choices that we don't always realize are just as important to our faith. When you are faithful in the small things, when you are honest about the small things you are actually going to gain the rewards your faith provides.
So, being faithful in the little things sounds easy, right? Not always. When was the last time you lied? Even a little white one to spare someone's feelings...It was probably sooner than you'd like to admit. We all try to justify little compromises. Yet compromising our faith just a little can lead us down a potentially destructive faith.
We are not perfect. God knows that. Being faithful in the little things isn't always simple. Yet every day we need to pray for the willpower to not give into the temptation to compromise. We need to strive to be our best. And when we do stray, we need to be honest with God and ourselves so we can do better the next time.
