Don't Just Make a Resolution...Keep One!
Now that it's a few days into the New Year, most Christian teens have set their resolutions. Even if you're not one of those people who like to set resolutions, you might still want to see how you can grow in your faith this year. I like to take an assessment of where I need to grow several times a year, because I think it can help me choose the right devotional, Bible readings, and prayer.
There are many different goals you can set this year, but the best way to approach your resolutions is to take them step-by-step. Just coming up with a general goal is guaranteed to fail. Think about how to get there. For instance, let's say you want to improve your prayer life this year. That's a great goal. Yet, how are you going to improve it if you can't seem to find the time? You could start by praying while you brush your teeth or praying for a few minutes before you close your eyes and sleep. Eventually, you'll find more and more ways to add prayer to your life.
So, don't just think of what your spiritual resolutions or goals are going to be this year. Think of what is realistic and how you're going to make them happen - then you'll see more success.
