Happy Chanukah to Our Jewish Friends

Monday December 22, 2008
Santa Claus
Menorah, Dreidel, and Gelt

Last night began the 8-night celebration of Chanukah in the Jewish community. While most Christian teens don't celebrate the holiday, it still can serve as a reminder of how good God really is. After all, he kept the lights going for eight nights when all seemed lost.

That's who God is, and that is what this Jewish holiday should serve to teach us. He is a provider. He is the light. He gives us hope in good times and bad.

So, while our Jewish friends light their menorahs to commemorate this miracle, Christians may want to spend some time in prayer this week thanking God for all that he is to each and every one of us.
