Your Stories: Knowing Where to Turn

Monday September 1, 2008

Sharing your testimony isn't always easy, but some of you have great stories to tell. Here is one with some great advice for all:

"I have grown up in a christian home, so I guess i have always been around people that know God. I gave my life to Jesus when I was eight, but when I was about eleven years old I had a downfall. I didn't know who was who and what was what, and I was really confused about the whole Christian living thing. Anyway, I was too ashamed to talk to my parents, so I talked to one of my older friends at church, and they gave me some advice...to get a devotion book. It really helped with all those hard questions you have, and there are so many you will be able to find one that will fit you like a glove."

The testimony has a couple important lessons. First, no time is too difficult for God, and we need to find ways to seek Him. Second, God has a way of giving us the resources we need. In this case it was an older friend at church that could provide advice and support and a devotional. Both are great ways to get Godly and practical advice on how to live like a Christian in today's world while also growing your relationship with God. Still resources can be as simple as a Bible, friend, teacher, leader, pastor, or even your parents. Stop and pray for God to reveal what you need in your life to help you in your Christian walk.

thats real true. as we all grow in the christian faith, there might be downfalls but does not the end of it. i love this quote ‘if God doesn’t have plans for the follwing day, He will not make you see a new day’
at times, i was forced to conclude that: why don’t i do what the world is partaking of… but i realize GOD hates lukewarm people.
