Against the Odds: U.S. Men's Gymnastics Team

While it seems that most of the attention at these Olympic games is focused on Michael Phelps and the rivalry between the U.S. and China Women's Gymnastics teams, one group of underdogs reminds us that anything can happen with just a little faith.
Last night the U.S. Men's Gymnastics team did what no one, except the team itself, thought it could do - win a medal. The injury-plagued team, led by Christian Jonathan Horton, kept their routines solid and consistent, unlike many others in the field. While the Chinese met expectations, the U.S. very much exceeded them.
And just when you think faith doesn't have much to do with it, watch what Horton does before his routines. He's been known to wear a necklace that says, "Thanks be to God that gives me victory," and a bracelet engraved with a verse from Philiippians. He also prays next to each apparatus prior to his routines. That prayer paid off if this Olympics. Jonathan Horton was on top of his game, and a team consisting entirely of first-time Olympians rose above adversity.

The content of this site is good for christian teens and it is very useful for christians.
I know that it might be rather adverse of me, but … I’m rooting for China.
(But I’m rooting for America, too.) ^-^
Seeing what Christian Jonathan Horton did before is bar routine *each routine was such a witness for the Lord! I knew just by watching him and his actions that he meant business for God! Amen! Our teens need these Christian Athletes to look up to and use as role models. Not to the glory of the athletes, as they each would say,…for the Glory of the Lord!! Amen! Pam
That is amazing! Although I am an avid Michael Phelps “Phan”..(fan). I think Johnathan Horton is absolutely great at what he does and it is about time that someone like him needs to pray in front of the world…that shows that there is a God and he is the master.

It seems I need to watch the Olympics more often. I barely watch it, but what little I do see is really good! Basically, I’m *for* some of the Asian countries as well as the Unites States. One of the reasons why I barely watch the Olympics is because it’s in China … and I pick up painfully bad vibes from that place. I mean, don’t get me wrong; I’d love to visit China one day ’cause I think it’s a neat place, but … I just *feel* things from that place that gives me the chills.
Keeping our priorities straight does pay off. God, country and family are what’s the order. Thank you God for again doing what you say you will do, honor us when we honor you.
