Your Christian Space Online

Wednesday June 25, 2008

We all know the hazards of social networking sites like MySpace, Facebook, and more. Most Christian teens have had it drilled into them that they should watch what personal information they put on their profiles and what they give out to people asking to be their "friends." Yet, more subtle issues abound on those sites like sexually explicit advertisements and offensive comments and graphics.

That's why two fathers in Alabama decided to create a space for Christian teens that filters out those explicit ads and offensive language called Christian Space Online. The site operates similarly to Facebook and MySpace, but when something offensive comes up the site works to block it. It is also a great place to have conversation with people who share similar values.

I think Christian space online sounds like a good idea. To Kristen, in general school usually block websites like myspace and facebook and chat lines just for the safety of students and its also a way of making students stay focus on their school work. I am a teen and I currently finish my first year of college even in my college these website are block one of the main reason why they are block is because students come into the library to use the computers to chat on aol or myspace and they end up dont doing what they came their to intially get done which is their school work. So in a way its like do what you want to do one your on time but when you come to school you do what your suppouse to do and thats school work.
